Jill Milan Launches New Luxury Fashion Brand with Spring/Summer 2011 Collection of Leather-Free Handbags

Signature "Thoroughbred Bag" to benefit horse rescue efforts

Los Angeles, CA () March 23, 2011

Jill Milan, a new luxury fashion brand, today announced the launch of itspany and inaugural product line - a collection of handbags created entirely of leather-free materials.

"We're excited to announce ourpany and first collection, the Spring/Summer 2011 line," said Jill Fraser, thepany's chief executive officer. Fraser, a longtime vegan, was inspired to found Jill Milan when she was unable to find high-quality, luxury handbags that were not made of leather or other animal-based materials. She is a supporter of animal welfare initiatives, in particular programs opposing horse slaughter.

Thepany's launch coincides with Jill Milan's participation as one of the sponsors of The 25th Anniversary Genesis Awards, held here March 19. The Genesis Awards, presented by The Humane Society of the United States, are awarded annually to individuals in the major news and entertainment media for producing outstanding works which raise public awareness of animal issues.

Jill Milan's Spring/Summer 2011 collection was made in Florence, Italy, by artisans who have a heritage of crafting the best luxury accessories in the world. The chains on Jill Milan's bags are handmade by a Florentine craftsman and the beads used on many of the handbags are blown by artisans in Italy's famed Murano. Highlighting the inaugural Jill Milan line are an evening clutch in a range of colors and thepany's signature "Thoroughbred Bag," available in both linen and faux leather, and replete with equestrian-themed adornments. A portion of the proceeds from sales of the Thoroughbred Bag go to support programs that rescue horses from slaughter.
